Charlotte Teunissen is a full professor of Neurochemistry whose work spans the entire spectrum of biomarker development, from initial discovery to routine clinical implementation. She is an internationally recognized expert in the application of NfL to monitor MS and other neurodegenerative disorders. Her extensive research has established that NfL levels accurately reflect acute axonal damage and correlate significantly with the presence of active, inflammatory lesions in MS. Furthermore, her group's studies on blood-based NfL assays have highlighted their utility in tracking neurodegeneration and evaluating patient responses to high-efficacy, disease-modifying therapies. Beyond her laboratory research, Professor Teunissen coordinates large-scale global initiatives, such as the Marie Curie MIRIADE project, which focused on training researchers and standardizing biomarker protocols worldwide.

Additional information

Roche Netherlands will have this preceptorship accredited for Dutch neurologists. No international accreditation/ CME will be requested. However, it is possible (and highly recommended) for each affiliate to apply for accreditation for this preceptorship locally themselves.

The Central Fund (NfLWP budget) covers the majority of the costs for the Preceptorship Amsterdam. Where applicable, administrative handling is arranged through the host country.

Included:

Two-day educational program at an off-site location (including breaks, lunches, and one dinner);
Two hotel nights (Sunday, November 22 and Monday, November 23);
Transfers to the off-site location on Day 1 and Day 2;
Return transfer to the hotel on Day 1;
Transfer to the airport or hotel after the program on Day 2 (if applicable).

Not included:

Travel costs to the Netherlands;
The arrival transfer (hotel is located next to train station Amsterdam Zuid, only one stop by train from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport).

These must be arranged and paid directly by the participant's own affiliate and the costs should be allocated to the Country specific WBS (central Fund, EU23 workpackage budget)

Complimentary 4-star accommodation in Amsterdam will be provided for all confirmed participants for 2 nights (Check-in: Sunday, November 22 / Check-out: Tuesday, November 24, 2026). If flight availability requires an extra night stay, please indicate in the registration form or inform the local organizing committee.

Flights

Please plan your travel to arrive in Amsterdam on Sunday, November 22 (as sessions begin at 09.00 hrs on Monday, November 23). Departure flights should be booked for Tuesday, November 24, after 18.00 hrs, or if no flights are available on Tuesday, on Wednesday November 25th.

Hospitality/ F&B

All scheduled meals, coffee breaks, and the group dinner on Monday, November 23 are included. Dinner is capped at € 60,- per person. Please indicate any dietary restrictions or compliance/hospitality limits * from your home country during registration.

*Host country spend limits apply (Netherlands). If your home country compliance rules are stricter, select the home country principle during registration.

Participant profile

Neurologists specialized in MS who are interested in liquid biomarkers including NfL testing and clinical implementation. Best candidates are neurologists who are capable of training other MS neurologists upon return to their home country.

Application process

Register by filling out all details in the registration form (see the link below);
Attendance is limited to one HCP per country to ensure an intimate, interactive learning environment;
1 HCP per EU23 country. Do not register a candidate unless their attendance is 100% confirmed;
Unused country slots will be redistributed after the October 1, 2026 deadline.

Roche Staff participation

Roche employee attendance is restricted to the Dutch medical team and designated organizing staff. Affiliate staff cannot attend as observers.

iHCP approval

Roche Netherlands will enter all HCP details and cost estimates into the iHCP system. Local affiliate approval sign-off must be completed in the system prior to the event.

Registration closes on Tuesday, October 1, 2026 at 17.00 CET.
